   poet
   Born in Vertus, Eustache Deschamps, known also as Eustache Morel, was one of the great personages of the courts of Kings charles v and charles vi. A student of Guillaume de machaut, Deschamps was a theorist of the poetic art (Art de dictier et de fere chançons, 1392) and the author of historical poems, ballads, and rondos. His work deals realistically with all subjects, amorous, satirical, and anecdotal.
